I've installed BDicty last year with the Eng/Fr + Fr/Eng dictionaries, and found at this time that both of them were badly organized. Actually, there are a lot of useless entries : - conjugated verbs are handled as separate entries. E.g. "abaissa: reduced" followed by "abaissai: reduced", followed by...... "abaisser: abase, decrease, lower". As you can see, the past and present participle are independant entries, thus taking up a lot of memory space.
- missing words like "awkward". Some are very common words, so I can't understand why they're not in the database.
- moreover, some translations are totally wrong ! I've submitted the dictonaries to my sister, who is a translator, and she stopped on many entries !
We talked a lot about this subject and I proposed to verify and correct the whole words database. Unfortunately, it seems that nothing changed and that the overall quality remains very poor as the dictionaries content is quite useless..
I propose you again to fix these errors, if you send me the database in any form (Word file, ASCII text file, Excel database), because I'm pretty sure that we can get a good result and even reclaim some memory space (thus gaining search speed).
Do not hesitate to post private message to my e-mail address, as I really would like to help in order to use what I paid for :-(
