>1. How can I change the name from User, User1, > or User2 to something that describes the Lex I >am making?
I have to apologize, the current release of the dictionary program just doesn't allow you to do that. It can still be done with some system tools that will directly allow you to rename databases in the device. If you badly need to go that way, we'd recommend using RsrcEdit and STRONGLY EMPHASIZE on the need to rename both the stock lexicon we offer AND the one that has the same name, but starts with asterisk (if it exists). The second one is where your manual entries will go.
I can also promise the renaming functionality will be present in BDicty after release 4.9, which is scheduled for next Monday. We may release 4.95 or something similar, as other users also asked about renaming.
>2. Is there a way to enter large numbers of >entries on a PC instead of using the pop up >keyboard on my palm??
The way we recommend this is to enter them in excel or Access and send us the file for conversion. We WILL NOT use the file for anything other than conversion without your permission and we will not charge you for the conversion.
We had the convertor publicly released in the past, but then stopped it and do not have immediate plans to release it again.
>3. After I get a custom lex made, how can I save >it under a specific name on my computer so that >I might post it to your website for others to enjoy?
If you are referring to a file made on the PDA, then you'd need to sync it and then find the corresponding image in the Backup folder of your Palm Desktop's user account. You will then need to send this file again to us, although we may do something about this process in future too. For now the fastest way would be to just email support@beiks.com with the file or for additional information how to get it from Palm Desktop's backup folder.
We hope this helps.
