We have not tried it in-house yet, but I believe we do have customers with 7780.

I do not see why it would not work, so far all BB devices with Java are backward compatible.

The most common problem we see is that the system and desktop software need to be updated to the latest versions before Java applications can be installed.

There is a single problem as far as Blackberry customer support goes that we have not yet been able to resolve: a customer in Germany can not install an application, because the desktop tells him it is not signed. I am posting it here just in case others have the same problem.

So far all leads point to local IT security policy restriction and RIM has confirmed they do not impose requirements on whether the applications have to be signed in order to install them, nor do they let carriers do that.

Again, most if not easily all other issues we have are realted to outdated desktop/handheld software.
